Orofacial Pain

& TMD

Orofacial pain, including temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), encompasses discomfort in the mouth, jaws, and face, often caused by various conditions. In some cases, the underlying cause remains unknown. Whether acute or chronic, orofacial pain and TMD can significantly impact quality of life, making everyday activities like speaking or eating challenging. Orofacial pain and TMD can cause symptoms ranging from jaw clicking and locking to painful jaw muscles, limited jaw movement, ear pain, headaches, and sore teeth from clenching or grinding. Our orofacial pain specialist is equipped to diagnose and treat a variety of chronic pain conditions, including TMJ disorders, nerve pain like trigeminal neuralgia, migraines, and unexplained toothaches.

Dr. Firoozeh Samim, our Oral Medicine specialist, will perform a thorough assessment of your condition and develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
